(La Nouvelle République)-Lomé will host the 9th Pan-African Congress from December 8 to 12, 2025, at the Lomé Congress Center, under the leadership of the President of the Council, Faure Gnassingbé. By organizing this event, Togo reaffirms its commitment to African unity and continental dialogue, asserting its role as a credible mediator and diplomatic actor in the sub-region.
The choice of Lomé is rooted in its tradition of stability and mediation. The city has frequently served as a venue for international negotiations, thanks to its discreet and effective diplomacy. This reputation convinced the African Union to entrust Togo with organizing this strategic edition of the Congress.
The Congress takes place at a time when Africa is seeking to strengthen its influence on the global stage. Discussions will focus on mental decolonization, the role of women, economic cooperation, historical justice, and food security, with the aim of producing concrete recommendations for African public policy.
The vision of President Faure Gnassingbé, centered on inclusivity and sustainable development, will guide the proceedings. By hosting this Congress, Togo reaffirms its role as a land of dialogue and peace, providing a conducive framework for a renewal of Pan-Africanism and the strengthening of continental unity in the face of global challenges.
